Warning: to all of you who have made a resolution of either cutting sweets, carbs, calories or what have you-do not continue reading.
I give you: Resolution Busting Brownies…at least a pan worth of busting. Once the pan is gone you can resume your former plans.
This, my friends, will change your brownie life. Just a gaze at the recipe (you see those 2 sticks of butter and 4 eggs?) justifies its legitimacy as an amazing brownie. Once you get them in the oven and the smell fills your home it’s all over. Bye, bye resolutions. I promise not to tempt you any more. Not even with the part where they’re so dense and fudge-y they just melt in your mouth. Ooops!
Resolution Busting Brownies
1 c. – 2 sticks of butter
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2c. unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4c. flour
What to do:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×9 pan.
What can I say? I like my brownies thick, and I don’t like to share. You can pour yours in a 9×13 if you don’t want yours as thick, plan to share, or want to postpone your resolutions for a longer amount of time.
Melt your butter in microwave safe bowl, large enough to mix the rest of the ingredients in once melted.
Mix in the sugar with a whisk.
Add the eggs and whisk like heck. You want the batter to look fluffy-ish.
Next add in the salt, vanilla, and cocoa. It will start to thicken and smell totally amazing. Add your flour once all the batter has turned black. Be sure to work out all the clumps really well, and scrape the bottom and sides well.
Dump the batter into your greased pan and get to baking.
If you chose a 9×9 you’ll need to bake 40-45 minutes. Say you decided to thin things out with a 9×13 you’ll need to bake your brownies for 25-30 minutes.
